Privacy policy

IndiaBatmi is built to need as little personal data as possible. You can read every brief without an account.

What we store on your device

Preferences you choose — light or dark theme, language, the stories you save or like, and topics you follow — are kept in your own browser’s local storage. They are not required to read the news, and clearing your browser data removes them.

What reaches our servers

• Feedback you send. If you flag a brief, we store your note, the story it refers to, and an anonymous device identifier so we can deduplicate reports. We do not ask for your name or email to flag a story.
• Standard technical logs. Our hosting and API record request metadata — IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested path — for security, rate-limiting and debugging. This is normal for any public website and is not used to build personal profiles.

Cookies and tracking

We do not run advertising networks or third-party behavioural trackers on the reader product. Any cookies in use are for the site’s own function, not cross-site tracking.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or require you to sign in to read the news.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act

We operate consistent with the DPDP Act, 2023: data is collected for explicit, lawful purposes, kept to the minimum necessary, and protected with reasonable security safeguards. To exercise your rights — access, correction, or erasure of any feedback you have submitted — email editor@indibatmi.in.

Children

The site is a general-audience news product and is not directed at children; we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the “last reviewed” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
